Absolutely adore Emily McDowell's ever so real greetings cards. I find sick and actively dying people to have the highest no bullshit filter. There is literally no time like the present when the doctor hands out an expiration date. It's so important to meet that person where they are even if that feeling is confusion, frustration and utter hopelessness.

Regardless, the lessons shared are overall great approach to living life more fully and open-hearted. These phrases definitely have a place in the hospice community I serve. Hopefully we can muster these words to our loved ones without death sitting on the other side of the table :)
