Hi Robert, there's a lot of good, dreamlike images here. I like the idea of using the moon/ balloon as a guide into sleep. My only suggestion would be to perhaps start the story with a slightly more dreamlike feel — maybe the child reaches for the balloon from his/her bed or the bedroom window and is lifted out into into the night. That way the whole nighttime adventure has a floating, disconnected, dreamlike feel — the journey from wake to sleep, where the child's feet never touch the ground. Good luck.
