I am passionate about:
Opportunity and access.
Melbourne VIC, Australia
"Curiouser and curiouser"
I am a creature of our global village: a Vietnamese refugee, now Australian; who can call a handful of cities home (Sydney, Vancouver, Montreal, Melbourne, Nha Trang) and hopes to add another handful of 'home cities' for her family. I have made books since I was little, and resumed making books for my two children.
It's a wonderful way to help kids learn relationships & showcase different lived experiences. I have one suggestion, the end pages with reading are all women (mommy, auntie, nana), perhaps add/swap in a male (eg grandpa that read at the library?).
I really like the concept, writing for infants is hard, and you have done it with word pairs to paint a typical big day in a city. You have noted that the art provides a second visual story narrative & daily diverse encounters; I am curious to understand a bit more about your intended plot/story-arc in the visual narrative? (The mid-pages bring forth a sense of some 'action': Shadow-Bold; Kind-Mean; Meet-Measure; Slim-Stocky; Step-Rocky). Good luck!
