PPE has drawbacks galore. PPE limits mobility and promotes heat exhaustion, don / doff procedures take excessive time, energy and acrobatic skill (ie balancing on 1 foot while removing a bootie on the other foot!). Sometimes procedures make no sense:

Rebecca, My thought was that an enclosed personal transport device would eliminate the need for the Medical Provider to suit up in PPE. The Personal Transporter can be stable in rough terrain and sterilized with while the Medical Provider waits inside before stepping down. I am not sure how a rolling work station would work so please elaborate.

Rebecca, Yes. The idea is that a transparent box is mounted on the personal transporter allowing for 360 degrees field of vision. This allows for improved bedside manner (direct patient / medical professional eye contact), improved diagnoses (medical professional can observe entire patient better than with a hood) and transport safety (medical professional can steer around obstacles).
