Facilitators will be trained to notice when students may need additional support in PSS. We aim to partner with an organization that has Mental Health Practitioners with whom the facilitators can communicate about a child’s needs. This MH provider is ideally someone with community rapport, would be the person communicating with parents and the child should more issues arise.
We would communicate directly with our partners, as they will be the ones on the ground implementing our program.
We have conducted trainings to train local leaders in both Greece and in Lebanon. These local leaders were recommended to us by our partner organizations.
Hi Bremley Lyngdoh Mentor Feedback: 1. Create a referral system or partnership with an institution that has access to a professional psychiatrist/mental health professional for children with higher level trauma 2. Speak with the experts for advice on evaluation tools to monitor the impact made with PSS and SEL programs for the 3-6 age range. 3. Address the issues that arise with a Train the Trainer model - i.e. fallout rate with individuals trained that are on the move, conceptual meaning lost in translation User Feedback: 1. Teachers are using mindfulness and yoga activities and have noticed an improvement in students engagement and energy levels; thus, they are eager to see more programs of this nature 2. In terms of the train the trainer model, teachers appreciate flexibility in implementation that meet students' needs and believe that translation of content and more frequent training can assist with this. 3. The SEL components taught have increased students focus and retention, and compliment program's such as UNICEF's basic literacy and numeracy well Expert Feedback: We have yet to hear back from our experts, and are looking forward to hearing from them very soon.
