YouthCare is designed as a win-win-win situation for caregivers, students, and seniors with Alzheimer’s. Caregivers: stress/depression reduction; opportunity to network with each other. Students: insightful workforce development experience as they join the fight against Alzheimer’s disease and develop an interest in fields of aging. Seniors: helps battle social isolation and creates a setting for purposeful aging via the mentor-mentee rapport that develops between seniors and caregivers.

There are many things that will be taken into consideration. The color, the size, the shape, the usage of each of the utensils and pieces of tableware.Colors will be chosen using insights adapted from research in appetite and thirst psychology to improve appetite and visual acuity.
Shapes and curvatures will be well designed to allow users to gather food and make scooping easier.

On Wednesday I went to dinner with my editor, Margaret, and the head of the department, Betsy, to celebrate officially announcement of the upcoming fourth book in THE GIVER Trilogy (in 2012 to become The Giver Quartet)...its title, now decided, to be SON. Many decisions yet to be made about a jacket, etc. Often people are surprised to find that things take such along time...
this is a year in advance of its publication.
