Lack of Income generation in marginalized families is a key obstacle. I suggest increasing the opportunities for vulnerable mothers to generate stable income by working from home and starting their own micro-enterprises.

Hi Anne-Laure. It is indeed a difficult balance to find, and of course the road to sustainability isn't a straight line. In the beginning, like any business, the center had to start with an initial investment as well as receiving ongoing support from donors, but as it improved its model continuously and families became more able to pay on time, it became more and more sustainable. Now that it's reached this stage, hopefully it can provide a best practice formula for future projects.

I agree, one thing I really like about this project is that it tackles interlinked problems. Children's well-being is secured and parents are economically empowered on top of being able to learn from the feedback given by the center's caregivers. If you look into the future, it has a great long-term impact on parents' future childcare and their ability to send their children to school when they're older.

Hi Afzal, Absolutely, I'll pass you the contact info of the Tushinde's director. I've just added you on LinkedIn if that's ok.
