Hi Ashley! Thanks for your question. It was certainly not a one person thing! We are 4 friends (Salman, Archy, Pat and I) and we all work in the field of artificial intelligence. When things got more serious in Canada, we had conversations on how we could help.
Here are a few insights that guided us: • Archy, whose parents are in the UK, really felt like there was a disconnect between him and them (They'd still go out to see friends, go to the theater) • We felt like each province in Canada was not reacting at the same pace • Our coworkers were wondering if we could still met for coffee and work together but from a cafe
Then we went on and looked at what data was available, and what could be a simple interaction to make people understand the potential impact of seeing other people still, and helping them understand how they can play a role in flattening the curve (surfacing how overloaded the healthcare system will be)
That is a very high level overview! We are working on a V2! Happy to chat more if you want!
