The Tragic, Neglected History of Zombies
In the initial script for 1968’s Night the director George A, of the Living-Dead. Romero identifies his flesh-eating antagonists as “ghouls.” Even Though The picture is widely attributed with releasing zombies into the cultural zeitgeist, it wasn’t till its follow-up a decade later, the consumerist problem Dawn of the Lifeless, that Romero could basically make use of the phrase. While producing the very first video, Romero grasped zombies instead to be the undead Haitian slaves represented in the 1932 Bela Lugosi horror film White Zombie.
