At Free To Shine we also facilitate community trainings on safe migration and the dangers of going to Thailand illegally. The best learning can come from creating a safe space where those who have returned can share their stories - indeed when one participant in our training told her neighbours about being captured and locked in prison for 3 days all participants decided they would cancel their plans or first get the appropriate documentation - she was more persuasive than any of our facilitators could have been. She lived among her neighbours and could have talked about this at any time, but she didn't until this safe space was created and she was invited to do so. From this experience I believe that using theatre for children and adults to come together and share their voices and concerns, their stories and questions is BRILLIANT. I think this will be met with so much success on so many different levels. And as part of the Family Care First Network, I really do look forward to learning from your experiences. Perhaps some of our staff could even come and watch one of the performances and learn from your experience of implementing this. Good luck and keep us posted
