Hello Chioma,

We have attached a user experience map(labelled experience map) which details user's interaction with tank suppliers. We are very determined to take this project on see it improve the lives of slum dwellers. Amplify for one, could join in the design stage with their experience in the field to better scale the idea even to regions further than designed for currently.

Also we plan to implement the idea with the help of community based organisations in the various slums.  for the needfinding exercise, w identified one group in the Namuwongo slum in Kampala which agreed to help in the mobilization of people and implementation of the project.

Hello Chioma,
Thank you for the contribution.

These tanks are advantageous in the wet months for rain water harvesting, however, when the months are dry, the families can fetch water to fill the tanks. This is from the consideration that storage is one of the major challenges faced by these families. Also, this presents an extra advantage of filtering the water on entry to the tank providing safer water for use.

We are currently editing the submission and pictures will be available within the idea shortly.

Best regards

Hello Charles,

The tank designs are two. A fold-able or collapsible water tank and a pipe-tank lined on the walls of the user’s house. Both tanks come in various sizes with the fold-able tank pre-manufactured to specifications in different sizes and the pipe tank installed with accordance to the users needs or space requirements.

As for a minimum roof size, currently, there is no restriction. Our aim is to place these tanks in occupied houses and we assume that, if the tank can be contained within the house alongside other inhabitants, the roof of the same house is more than enough to fill up the tank.

Thank you for the contribution and  any other query is still welcome. Best regards
