User Experience Designer
"Design for humans, not art galleries"
I have a passion for strong innovative products. I love well designed products. I love being pleasantly surprised by great customer experiences. I can't stand the generally accepted status quo. I love learning. I love questioning.
I started my career in design when I started a garment printing business with my brother. After we bought two direct-to-garment printers, we soon wanted to start our own clothing line. I started doing graphic design to come up with as many prints as we could.
I soon fell in love with web design, and human factors. I developed a really strong passion for empathizing and designing for human conditions and needs.
I started working for a global web hosting company called UK2 Group. My favorite project here was when we designed a new dashboard for managing enterprise cloud hosting. The old product was unusable and was the cause of countless tickets for the customer service team. Using the Google Ventures design sprint, which organizes IDEO HCD principles in a constrained sprint. We designed a dashboard that not only delighted customers, but left competitors having to adapt.
After UK2 Group I worked with a promising startup called Degreed. Their mission is to jailbreak the degree. I aligned heavily with their purpose to make sure all learning is captured and accredited. I was responsible for user experience design. I was able to help develop a strong visual language for the product, increase sign up conversions, and create an innovative learning discovery platform.
I soon parted ways to work with an extremely innovative and collaborative design team at BambooHR. BambooHR is HR software for small and medium sized businesses. I've learned a great deal about design and user experience as I've been here.
