Architect and Innovation designer
"Form is what and Design is How."
I'm an architect from New Delhi and currently in Glasgow. I have recently completed my masters’ degree in Design Innovation and Environmental Design from the Glasgow School of Art.
I believe in the ideology of Louis Kahn, who cites “Form is what and Design is how”. I am keenly interested in exploring user-centric design processes and how they interact with spatial design. According to my perception, architecture is an ongoing process of translating a ‘space’ into a ‘place’ that develops over time and adds meaning to a ‘space’. This process is highly influenced by the surrounding context of social, cultural and physical dimensions present within the space.
One thing that has intrigued me a lot since my early days of studying architecture is the effect of spatial design on our sense of space. During my tenure at Glasgow School of Art, I got the opportunity to further explore this concept, which helped me in gaining a new perspective on architecture that amalgamates information and narratives, where technology acts as a tool in enhancing the experience of interpretive spaces. I would like to explore design processes which interact with spatial design processes that might lead to an innovation.
