Thank you for the post, Simon. It is great to know that Denmark cares so much about its people, enough to let them prosper. Yes, everything comes with a price, nothing is truly FREE; however, in our society, we pay a lot for taxes as well, but it seems none of them go towards the things that are truly necessary. I feel that a change in perspective is what our country needs, in addition to a revolution in the education system. Thank you again for your insight, and I hope change is coming!
Thank you for your comment, Sakshi, and good luck on your studies. I have to disagree about the "value" of education decreasing if the tuition was free. I feel that the problem we have in this country is that we base "value" on only monetary value, when education goes way beyond that. Education is not and should not be a business - it's a BASIC NEED for our society, after food and shelter. I wish our country would stop making everything about money - because that is the reason for all the debt in the first place. If tax increases are what it takes, then I think most people would find that an acceptable trade-off. I'd rather pay extra taxes, than sit on tens to hundreds of thousands of student loan debt. Making education free will give more opportunities to everyone to get a higher education, which I think is the LEAST our nation can do for its people.
Thank you for the comment, Azeem. I agree, it's a huge burden on our generation, and it seems like the leaders of our government are blind to this. Yes, there are some things being done, but it's barely scratching the surface. We want REAL change, not just talk. Hoping for some major changes in the future!
