"Better cities for a better world"
As humanity migrates to cities, the global population in this first "urban century" will be 75% urban by 2050. As catalysts of culture, community, and commerce, cities are incubators of wealth spurred by growth in production and trade. But millions of poor urbanites overwhelm cities and metro areas with the challenges of building and managing sustainable material, administrative, and social infrastructures for a rapidly expanding population.
Will Urban Century cities become sprawling cesspools of destitution and despair or catalysts of dynamic, inclusive wealth creation for human flourishing?
This Urban Century Livable City Challenge is an unprecedented opportunity for people, the planet, and greater prosperity -- building better cities for a better world.
