Creating global transparency through empowering people to disseminate information anonymously using low cost, portable communication technologies that allow voice, text, pictures, and videos to be shared with each other and the world.
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have been mentioned before using photography based methods for visualizing problems; however, lessons learned from recent history highlight the need for more than images without context. First hand accounts are ideal.
The core of your idea is something that we have been pursuing for BEAM; transmitting sensors to help more regular healthcare monitoring. We are working with one European Manufacturer, who has agreed to become a BEAM partner, once we are able to get the concept into further development.
Some of the other uses that you have identified are for areas that we have not yet pursued, and we see some great potential in those areas. Also, see Claudia's comment below about a tooth implant sensor that can help change habits.
As this challenge moves forward, we are interested in collaborations that can result in identifying new modules for our pillars.
Hello Claudia. Thank you for the link. BEAM's intent is to allow participants to control what information is transmitted to their healthcare providers. We do see some potential for the tooth implant as an optional module within BEAM for those participants that want to change those habits but feel that they need more accountability.
This optional use ensures program sustainability because only those that want it are using it. From research, we believe that forcing specific tools or modules will result in higher turnover/participant dropout. We want to make the program capable of mass customization because each individual will have different needs and goals.
