Dear Jessica,
Thank you so much for your comment and yes Creative Box has the potential for global replication. However, our initial target was the Ghanaian/African community, and internet is very costly in our region, trust me, I have lived in Canada,Ghana and Kenya, and knows the huge difference in internet accessibility and affordability. That is why we want to first get our show on the existing local channels out there and then expand, this is also due to limited resources because even if we use the internet approach we will not reach the numbers we want in Africa, we still have to make some investments in advertisements to reach a lot of children.Unlike TV where parents can just tune in and don't have to think about spending extra money on internet bundles. Also the young people we are targeting in this region do not have access to a computer nor a smart phone, and children whose parents have these tools do not give their children full control because of the cultural concern that parents cannot really monitor the programs their kids watch over the internet. At the moment, we are carefully considering all these factors, especially with our sign language addition, we need to work closely with various sign language interpreters, if children from other parts of the world are going to watch, for instance a child in America, would need a sign language interpretation in ASL, because every country has its own unique set of signs, and we want to make sure that deaf children are not left out in the next seasons of creative box, captions are not always enough. We hope that by introducing the Creative Box TV app, parents and educators can download and follow our videos at their own free time.
