The alien like suits will likely be a necessity unless and until a good vaccine is available. I think if it were me, I'd rather see humans directly even if through a bubble. Either way, we need people on the ground who can keep patients calm and explain what is happening. Someone wrote about ebola survivors who are now, I think, immune. They would be perfect for such a job.

It should also reduce the cost both in terms of purchase of protective gear and disposal of contaminated gear.

I agree that we need to be looking for ways to decontaminate, sterilize and re-use protective equipment.
