Hi Mirette-- No it has not been tested in refugee communities, but it is certainly has been a undeserved communities in the US that are in states of chaos like Freguson, MO. I think it is a great way to start the community process and identify social innovators quickly. Hackathon's have been in the technology sector for years, but the Hack concept can be non-tech problems and solutions.

Love your idea-- it is along the same lines has my idea that I have and that is utilizing Hackathon's in the camps which allows training.
