Thanks Amy - that's exactly what the problem is...

The conversations were intended to see if the respondents (auto rickshaw wallahs and bus conductors) would warm up to the proposed messaging or not, and if they would support such a campaign. They spoke quiet openly, and expressed how they thought that harassing women on the streets was a phase in most boys/mens lives (!), however, they agreed that the situation should be resolved - and if the messaging would maintain their neutrality on the subject then they would offer their vehicles as message carriers.

And I personally think that is we get a few onboard, more will join - as group behaviour in this case is infectious.

Hi Bettina,

This is quite interesting - and exactly what we are trying to do, tapping into the male group psyche and turning that to adopt a more responsible behaviour as a 'thing to do'. I was in India recently and tested the idea with various men (with the help of male friends) and the extent to which they were prepared to change their behaviour as a result of man to man influence is quite eye opening.

Thanks for sharing :)
