"Without Contraries is no progression. Attraction and Repulsion, Reason and Energy, Love and Hate are necessary to Human existence." -William Blake"
As a double major in Science, Technology, and Society (Innovation, Technology, and Organizations track) and Classical Languages (Latin and Greek language and literature), I love to grapple with big ideas and leverage them as powerful tools to innovate for the future. From Plato's Theory of Forms and the Epicureanism of Lucretius to object -oriented programming and design thinking, I thrive upon the eclectic fusion of ideas and experiences that do not immediately appear to fit together. When I'm not thinking way too much, I love to run long distances, write poetry and longer fiction, and listen to music (particularly classic and alternative rock).
I am originally from an island off the coast of southern New Jersey; this summer, I lived in San Francisco and interned at Salesforce.com on the Product Marketing Team for the Salesforce Platform.I also served as a "catalyst" course assistant for the d.school's Design Thinking Action Lab MOOC.The summer before that, I did an original research project with the Classics department that started out as a comparison of the notions of poetic inspiration in Horace and William Blake and ended as a more broadly applicable exploration of creativity; I also spent three weeks of that summer teaching English in Anhui Province, China, where I gained valuable experience of "pivoting" to adjust my plans to changing schedules on a daily basis.
This concept provides an innovative interface to make virtual collaboration more organic. Using a mobile-first approach, it places two windows side by side: one containing skeumorphic post-its and the other containing a video conference like Skype.
