Although this idea is from the public sector, I see it having potential for the private sector. The idea in a nutshell - recruit well educated people to be volunteer teachers, give them some basic teacher training, and set them loose on the schools.

This is a truly fantastic idea. So simple, yet so meaningful. And it's been in existence for 15 years? Wow!

Thanks Meena. Checked out Vincent's submission. Fantastic idea, and I'm about to build on it.

This idea's a little bit different though. Imagine going into a community and starting something as simple as a small scale viewing center (for cricket matches, soccer, movies, etc).

A team of small business experts goes into a community, identifies opportunities and then selects people to introduce and manage businesses (entrepreneurs selected based on local reputation, business acumen, etc).

In return the entrepreneurs agree to pay a certain percentage of profits to one or two schools (to help with growth and development). Some of the money can also be used for scholarships from really poor families. So the money goes into a pool, and the schools decide how best to use it.
