I am a recent UC Berkeley grad, where I double majored in Society & Environment and Peace and Conflict Studies. I am completely crazy about traveling, and just spent the past two months exploring Brazil during the World Cup before making my way to Peru to check out Machu Picchu. Previously, I spent a semester abroad studying in Rome, after which my best friend and I backpacked through Europe for a month. I love soccer, yoga, hiking, and body surfing. Basically if you put me outside, I'm happy. I'm an observant thinker with a deep interest in people. I enjoy learning new languages, eating California burritos at the beach, running at the end of the day when the sun is setting, and talking politics.
I spent much of my academic career researching the socio-environmental impacts of oil extraction in West Africa, and studying the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I jumped at every opportunity I had to read/discuss/learn about these topics...it's what made me tick.
Professionally, I have a pretty diverse background. I've waited tables at restaurants in Berkeley and San Diego, worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Geography and Development Studies at UC Berkeley, taught youth in Tel Aviv about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, designed strategies for Annie's Food Company's to track its carbon emissions, and interned at a small social enterprise in Oakland that is leveraging the power of technology to build global supply-chain transparency. I also spent my final year at Berkeley covering sports for the campus newspaper, which was an experience I absolutely loved. I pride myself on being a strong writer and a deeply attentive listener, and I think I also have a pretty relentless work ethic.
