The idea is to help people to develop a habit of recycling by gamifying the process of creating habits: Trigger - Behaviour (make it as easy as possible to have early success) - Reward . The basic gaming concept is that people could purchase or downl
Engaging in recycling seems a habit just as doing more sports or eating more healthy. We know a lot about habits. One guy, James Clear who I met a few years ago at the St. Symposium, developed quite deep expertise in habits and how to change them. He
You are on your way home? Dark streets? No people around?
Even in safe cities women feel unconfortable in these situations.
Therefore "Heimwegtelefon" (Translation: Way home phone) offers a phone service that makes women feel more confortable in
The concept is simple. No right brain left behind organised a format where a certain group of creative people generate ideas and prototype the most promosing for creative education. Creative teaching methods should certainly boost CREATIVITY I asume!
Hub are creative coworking spaces that not only focus on providing infrastructure for your idea/start up but also lives from likeminded people that you would meet there and the vivid exchange between peers.
Coding and programming is a great and interesting activity; Coder Dojo offers a great and inspring environment for children that want to learn programming. Coding is not only about being analytical but rather demanding creative thinking skills
It's called the independent project. The basic idea: what if kids designed their own schools and classes? Learning formats differ from weekly peer sessions to half year projects. Also the teachers role changes from a mere presentator to a facilitator
Product is bearing an insightful message or information / Product reaches perpetrator/violator / Consumer is confronted with pro peace statements each and every day / Change of behaviour as possible outcome
Skylanterns are easy to use means of communication. They are cheap, not weathe dependent to high extent, visible over great distance and might be produced with natural or very low tech materials. Signaling upcoming violence might be one way of usage
There are severelal examples when packaging became the medium for transporting messages. Combined with products that also reach remote areas and are highly demanded, this might be an alternative when high-tech communication isn't an option.
Open Space, a largely known large group intervention method, is known for facilitating information sharing, idea generation and enabling flow of communication. Interestingly enough it has its roots in Africa.
Location based mobile services, one of the latest trends in marketing, allows retailers to inform you about offers once you enter a certain area (nearby the shop). This not only works with GPS, but also with triangulation that locates older devices
Why would a person do sth. that is obviously against human nature (violance to others)? When thinking about this question I felt that maybe the opportunity to act or behave in other ways is (or rather seems) simply not being possible
Sky lanterns seem to fulfill some important aspects of communication and shows great potential for communicating in limited access areas. Most importantly they are cheap to buy, easy to make, visible over great distance and impress when many are used
Thx Christel Tardif for your thoughts and feedback. What exactly do you mean by early adopters "selling" the idea? Selling to customers that the drink comes without straw or do you refer to something else. As this is a multi sided model it is indeed very challenging to build value on both sides through high numbers of bars and site-visitors / customers. With such models the first months or even years are critical. So far I haven't come up with alternatives. How exactly would your partnership solution work? Thank you for any further input and thoughts that you might have in the upcoming days. Stephan
Thx Darren Yeo for your comments. Exactly, the idea is that we award certain businesses with a certificate that represents participation in a plastic free movement and serves as a badge which can be also displayed digitally (like bcorporation)! Issuing the badge for a year or longer or shorter is certainly an important question. It shouldn't be easy to get unless you commit to banning straws in your bar/restaurant but of course you should be able to celebrate your success for some time.
Of course: it's important to test how important straws really are fro (perceived) quality. My feeling is that we use because we get it but this feeling needs some back up / testing.
Do you have a restaurant, café, bar or any other business of that sort?
