I am passionate about:
Family and friends (far and wide), our work (far and wide), local volunteering, church, hiking, biking, skiing, coaching (rowing), being outside! Continuing the gift of my dad's legacy. (see below)
A little known fact about me is:
I am writing a screen play. Well, trying ... It is hard.

"It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop." Confucius"
Ah, it is always so hard, this “about me.”
BUT, I will try:
Growing up in France & VT - influenced by the joy of first childhood memories of the spirit of educational programs. I am grateful for that joy and for the enthusiasm our parents modeled: being motivated and motivating within (and through) the mission of a project, of a job at hand. Whatever my role: daughter, sister, niece, cousin, friend, student, teacher, coach, wife, mom (stepmom), grandma, godmother, trainer, employee, co-worker, boss - I try to focus on and understanding mistakes are okay . There is so much to treasure.
Dear SPEAK Team, Great thoughts on how to help people understand face to face/ heart to heart while sharing language, culture, the present, and the future. Such hope in this idea. Congratulations. Good luck to you all and to this great project. Yassas, Helene from ERMIT
Korinta! Yes..yes..yes..so agree. Your work is so important. Although I am not a person on the move - I am a heritage speaker of one language and speak a few others so I completely follow what you are saying - language is culture and culture is language = intrinsic. Powerful indeed. One of my favorite quotes about language (and culture) is actually from my late father (who was a professor here at Dartmouth). In this talk he spoke about educators, but I do believe it applies for all - so, I say let's fill in what you will for the word teacher, I say! :o) "Language is a living, kicking, growing, flitting, evolving reality, and the teacher should spontaneously reflect it vibrant and protean qualities." John A. Rassias, Dartmouth College Best wishes to you all for this project! Yassou, Helene
Souad, Hello from another ERMIT team member! What an idea! This one hits me on a few levels as I grew up in France and the USA. It is terrific to see this creative way of interweaving experiences to solidify a new and different kind of community feeling. I would love to see your plan in action! C'est vraiment merveilleux! Yassou, Helene
