I am passionate about:
everything! I'm super into coffee, hanging plants, and Nigerian literature right now. Traveling is also kind of my thing, which sometimes makes it hard to take care of all my hanging plants...

Work Life: I'm currently developing the brand and identity materials for JAWiC (Jamaican Women in Coffee), the Jamaican chapter of the IWCA (International Women's Coffee Alliance), a non-profit organization that supports women in the coffee industry.
This is true, depending on the goal of the work. Some concepts would be almost impossible to convey without text, i think, while others may be more more suitable. This image is intended to be more of an infographic than an illustration... but since i submitted it and i've been paying more attention to what i see online, i almost wish i had focused more on the kind of illustration you describe. The images out there now are just so homogenous.
I actually really love the illustration style in the first image, it's just that there's so much going on i can't immediately determine where my focal point should be. The second one, though "quick and dirty" is effective to my eyes, especially when looking for quick symbols i can interpret easily. Both are good for different reasons!
