Currently, I am a Partner at Isla Innovations, and I also independently serve as a strategic and sustainability advisor to a range of organizations in the United States and the Caribbean. My primary goals are to develop innovative product-service systems (PSS) and economic frameworks that help meet the needs of communities across the globe.
I enjoy networking and welcome invitations to discuss projects, research opportunities, or just to talk. It would be an honor to meet others working to facilitate change in our world.
Excellent system your team has developed. In the United States, this system would save grocery stores a lot of money every year. I am excited to see how this develops, will keep an eye out for your future efforts.
Thanks for the commentary, you bring up some excellent points about PLA biodegradation. I agree with you I think PLA has a long way to go as far as being able to biodegrade under real conditions within one year. I came across research from Ramani Narayan about PLA biodegradability, where he was clarifying biodegradability. Perhaps you came across this too?
I agree with you there may be some confusion to residents and municipalities on how to handle PLA. We also submitted a few more ideas about information platforms and pre-sorting that would take some responsibility away from residents. This material I believe should be combined with a robust information platform so inter-sector processes can be developed to handle plastics, PLA preferably.
I think there is an opportunity for some collaboration around plastics. We have a few engineers in our co-op who are experienced with 3D printers who could offer advice. I will search for you on Linkedin. Hope to talk more. Your ideas are really creative!
