Hi Shaheed - once you've gotten your students to sign up on openideo they can evaluate this idea and add ideas of their own on this platform. We can devide into groups or teams or remain in one team. There are more than one challenge on this platform and I will also enter another challenge and invite your team there. This means 200 students have to sign up and start evaluating, asking questions to develop the idea and in so doing advance the project. When we are finished on evaluation we can attempt to physically build a prototype. Would you and your students like that?
Here's the material that can be used to line out these pipes but need to be modified to be sensitive to water as opposed to human touch https://techxplore.com/news/2017-03-flexible-sensor-potential-foldable-screens.html
Yes Mitul - I've just discovered a great way to realise this is to use a new product which is a foldable sensor fabric that can detect pressure - currently it can detect human touch, but can be modified to pick up water pressure or tremors. This may mean we get to use less sensors or we can line the entire pipe with this fabric which will then send out a signal that can be picked up electronically. Here is the link https://techxplore.com/news/2017-03-flexible-sensor-potential-foldable-screens.html This is a truly remarkable discovery in its own right but will need to be modified to accommodate water as opposed to human touch. What do you think?
