we have been working with an organization - Akiba Mashinani Trust - whose activities are all based in these settlements - on land tenure issues over the last year. we are supporting some legal challenges to address this problem. at the same time the organization we are partnering with has taken time to undertake extensive community organising - so this particular idea would benefit from their organizing efforts so far. the beauty of this particular initiative is that it would help reinforce the sense of community we hope to build and will contribute to the longer term efforts to strengthen the community and enable them to more forcefully secure their rights.
