Eunhee commented on An Apple a Day

In response to your question, "How can we be more deliberate about the food we buy during grocery store trips?", NPR reporter Shankar Vedantam reported on a case study where researchers partitioned grocery carts where yellow duct tape ran in the middle of the cart with signs indicating this part of the cart was for veggies and fruits and other side for different foods. People ended up buying more fruits and veggies as a result of the partitioning. When grocery stores help us be more mindful of our shopping with signs and reminders, we can often make better food choices in the moment of decision making.
