Hi Lincon,

You idea reminds me of this one submitted a bit ago, you might want to check it out:

I'm curious what you envision would determine the value of each cap. Is it based on the price of plastic as a commodity, is established through company participation in a program, or is it a valid form of currency?

I really like your idea Marissa! I work for PLAN, a non-profit that supports student-led zero waste initiatives on college and university campuses. Your product definitely seems applicable to this population, or to any widely used bathroom space if an appropriate dispenser could be developed. I wonder how the sheets could be protected from moisture without using any disposable plastic packaging, especially in bathrooms that get steamy from showers. Perhaps some sort of wax paper-lined roll of soap tape that people can rip sheets off of?

Post-Landfill Action Network (PLAN) commented on Redesigned zero waste local event

Hey all,
My name is Meghann and I also work for the Post-Landfill Action Network (PLAN)  I put together a few zero waste events at my college campus in the United States. One difficulty I have found with hosting zero waste events is finding enough volunteers to stand behind the waste stations when you have events that are happening continually such as every weekend. I was wondering if you had any creative ideas with recruiting volunteers, especially as you start to host more and more zero waste events?
