Hi IIiriana-

It is difficult to know how many unregistered home-providers there are since they are off any official registry. PCA has had success over the last two-years in reaching over 200 home-based providers that are either unregistered or registered/unlicensed working towards licensure. PCA works annually with hundreds of families with children 0-3 through our Communities for Education and Action initiative that support identifying and reaching out to unregistered home-based providers. Our developing network is a peer-to-peer and relational approach that further facilitates the outreach and leadership development. It started by engaging home-based providers in the assessment of assets/gaps/needs, then developing solutions with them. We want to move into codifying the network's practices into a shared services hub approach so that this model can be scaled to other communities across NM and outside the state. We estimate there are over 500 unregistered home providers of children 0-3, especially in more rural parts of NM, that could benefit from this model. We would enjoy the opportunity to connect with other organizations working with home-based providers in the Prize platform. Thanks for your message!
