Drinking excessively can damage your health. Excessive alcohol use led to roughly 88,000 deaths for around 2.5 million years of future life lost annually in the United States from 2006-- 2010, shortening the lives of those who died by approximately three decade. Further, extreme drinking was accountable for 1 in 10 deaths among working-age adults 20- 54 years of age. The economic costs of extreme alcohol consumption in 2006 were approximated at $223.5 billion, or $1.90 a drink.
