"innovations in global health and micro chocolate"
After studying Psychology in college I continued working at Chocolate Covered, a small retail boutique in San Francisco specializing in supporting innovative micro-batch chocolate companies. Eight years of chocolate eating, merchandising, consulting and retail sales required a global perspective on business, the environment, and social welfare and could have easily become a career for someone other than myself.
I left the tastiest job on the planet when I was offered a seat in an MPH program with a hands-on approach to global health. My studies took me to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where ten weeks of global health work solidified my passion for global health innovations.
My problem solving strategy is multi-faceted and draws on my diverse background in retail business, jewelry design, and public health, and often feels a bit like rock tumbler: place an idea with unfinished edges in and it will tumble around until there is a smooth, finished product.
