I am passionate about:
Quality education for all children around the world.
A little known fact about me is:
My doctorate research and thesis in Sorbonne was done in six African countries in war and consequent traumas to their children. The theme was to “cognitively unblock a child that suffers from hunger, gets beaten and is unable to learn".

Executive Coordinator in Projeto UERÊ
"Never give up! Permanent researches in the field of education. Resilience."
I have been working with street kids since a teenager. 17 years ago, after assisting the surviving kids in the “Candelária Massacre” in Rio de Janeiro, I started a NGO called Projeto UERÊ, where we receive over 400 street kids per year, constantly exposed to trauma and violence, due to the social conditions they live inside the slum where Projeto UERÊ is located. The way to deal with those problems was by developing a unique Pedagogical methodology I entitled UERÊ-MELLO Pedagogy. The approach aims to reconstruct and strengthen brain connections affected by violence-induced trauma.
I Think that expertises have to encounter. We cannot pretend that we know best than the other. Your expertise is very valuable but refugees and children in need exist all over the globe with some problems you experience. I have a school in Rio de janeiro, Brasil, specialised in children and youth with cognition problems due to violence. My first PHd thesis was writen after a reseach in countries at war in 5 african countries where children did not learn correctly and my life was focused in researching a better way to teach traumatised children. Our experiences are not unique. many people around the world researches how to improve mankind. You and me are one of them. see our site: http://www.projetouere.org.br Sincerelly Yvonne Bezerra de mello Uere-Mello poedagogy
Very good idea Brad. It is very difficult to find sponsors and thousand of good ideas get lost for lack of funds. We are a school in Rio de janeiro, Brazil, specialised in children with cognition problems due to violence. I have been travelling and working in Africa and those learning problems are everywhere. I tailores a pedagogy for deblocking traumatised children. Today this method is public policy in many public schools in risk areas around Brazil. See our site: http://www.projetouere.org.br I congratulate you for having this idea. Unfortunally we need funds to make the life of children better around the world. Sincerelly Yvonne bezerra de mello
