Powerful vision and proposal with potential to transform Lima’s marginal barrios. Apart from the technological options of water harvesting from fog and architecture for roof gardening, it will be key to engage with the base organizations in the slums: the comite’s de vaso de leche, asociaciones de migrantes and schools. Water can be the key, but collective action democratizing its governance will be essential. Typically, horticultural outputs can be used for better consumption at home or income generation. Involving women and a food literacy approach will without doubt be essential to assure that increased access to vegetables or guinea pig meat will result in better healthier diets. Access to seed and seed quality will also be indispensable for the sustainability of urban horticulture. Good luck with the next phase and way to go!
