Designer / 3D Printing Specialist
Vicente Gascó is a designer and fabricator with a background in Architecture and Digital Fabrication. With interest in combining his research interests with practice, Vicente founded Tredé, a 3d printing startup that offers additive manufacturing, fabrication consultancy, workshops and training to an emerging generation of artists, makers and inventors in Puerto Rico.
His ongoing interests include rethinking the way we build our everyday objects from waste-intensive manufacturing to a more conscious and local option with digital fabrication, especially 3d printing. Vicente is also a 3d printing + STEM education researcher, which led him to become a high-technology consultant and 3d printing educator for a pilot educational program currently been applied to the Dr. Facundo Bueso High School in Santurce, Puerto Rico. Vicente is involved with several initiatives, communities and organizations, such as community mayor for 3D Hubs San Juan, co-director of local hackerspace Laboratory for Erroneous Design (LED), and maker for Code 4 Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico’s Code 4 America brigade), community builder for coworking space Engine 4 and volunteer fabricator for e-Nable.
Vicente holds a Master Degree in Advanced Architecture from the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia along with a Bachelors in Environmental Design and a certificate in Urban Studies from the School of Architecture of the University of Puerto Rico. Previous experience includes architectural experience with puertorican architecture firm RMA Architects and design, fabrication and CNC machining for design/build studio Constructo.
