Software Engineer & Entrepreneur
Consumer Interactions
"A thoughtful creative that aggressively pursues optimal design"
Bryon is an industrial engineer by schooling, a ruby software engineer by self training and an entrepreneur by passion. He is one who holds honest and transparent communication highly, and is drawn to occupations and activities that celebrate such. Design is a field with a rather narrow mission: maximize utility of something to achieve recurring benefits or a set goal, while minimizing required input to use. In other words, to design is to establish a framework that aligns incentives of all parties involved in an initiative. In business, design often includes designing an organization to carry out a set mission or objective. Following an engineering degree from the University of Illinois, and several years in management consulting, Bryon decided to pursue his passion of product design and entrepreneurship. In 2011 he launched Furnishly, a local marketplace for vintage furniture. The premise of Furnishly was simple: the second-hand market for furniture was far too illiquid, resulting in lower-quality, 'disposable' furniture purchases. Following Furnishly, Bryon co-founded an online food concept that married professional recipe design with home-at grocery delivery. While online businesses often come to fruition through relentless customer acquisition, Bryon always ensured effective product design had a seat at the table. Though his venture company, Consumer Interactions, Bryon continues to test new digital concepts and brand, and is building a wide skill-set that ranges from product design and execution to communication and marketing to operations and back office. He is looking forward to his next challenge, and is excited to meet you.
