My research agendas are concerned with food systems, tool making and collaborative methods for interdisciplinary work. In these inquiries food is used as a lens to examine both tools for collaboration, teaching systems thinking to the next generation of graphic designers and community engagement for interdisciplinary collaboration.
Thanks for your suggestions Jemima, I like your idea on having savings goal incentives and how one would be encouraged to book a hotel or flight as a reward. I think having an open and flexible incentives systems in order to engage everyone's individual needs is necessary for this type of platform. What I find rewarding, you might not necessarily and so on.
I think M-pesa would make for a rich case study on how it was established and adopted in Kenya as a new economic system. I acknowledge cryptocurrency is an emerging system but one that is decentralized and open, which in my opinion is full of exciting design possibilities.
