When someone is detained anywhere, police, abroad, terrorist groups, they have every possession taken away. Therefore any monitoring or device used to communicated is eliminated. To combat this we need to design a device which is held in the body eit
Thank you for the interest in Pulse. As it stands it is a concept with the core idea and visuals all there. To move this on, Pulse requires electronic skills to develop the EMS and TENs of the product (both electrical stimulations exist in other products) and further research into the application and benefits of EMS and the user interaction.
In my original design there was a whole section on software which was aimed at the carer being able to set it up and view usage to ensure the patient is using Pulse. There was also a large part of the project spent on patient compliance. For instance, Pulse lit up on the areas activated for stimulation and slowly pulsed as it worked to give the patient reassurance that it is working. You can also target specific areas and run through programs e.g. left side, then right. Moving forward the community can decide what aspects of this project to retain.
I would need to see how its current IP stands, as all projects conducted by students under the University are protected to ensure the idea is not stolen during exhibitions and portfolio reviews, but this should not be too much of an issue and I can sort this out now.
If you require any more information on the project give me an email or comment, I would love to see continued progress on this product as I believe it has real world potential.
That Bugs Bunny episode was spot on about uniform (or hats), there was an article or program (can't remember which) which went to show how people will be more compliant to someone dressed in a certain way, and one of the uniforms were hi-vis jackets. It made the point that they could be bought anywhere for less than a pound but made you look more official. They asked people to move from the pavement with and without the jacket and noticed a big difference to the amount of people who moved without question with the jacket on.
