Hi Meena.

Thank you for your welcome and ideas.
When I put my idea forward I wasn't aware that that the focus was only on the developing world however, your questions do have me thinking about how to broaden the reach of the programme.

Currently I can only imagine what services are provided in the antenatal or postnatal stages within these countries so collaboration would of course be paramount to adapt the programme for the parents needs. However, given the programme is based on teaching parents the basics of a newborn's digestive biology along with the communication or cues that all babies make to help us understand their needs (my original research), I do feel the programme has something to offer in any country it is made available in.

I will give this more thought Meena and hopefully, along the way, find others that may see the potential of having such a programme in their community and can help do just that.

I also look forward to finding some time to look at other people's ideas very soon!

Thanks again.

Hi Amowi. Thanks for your post. I wonder too and would love to hear of such practices. Unfortunately I have only had first-hand experience in the Western ways of bringing up children and have only glimpsed the more communal ways through my travels. There is a belief that these behaviours do not occur as much in the communities where babies are held more consistently. Hopefully someone else can enlighten us....

What a fantastic idea Amowi. I can imagine children in schools being involved in painting them up. Keep up the good work!
