Can we leverage the models of self-indulgent and superficial things like tabloid magazines to shift the focus to real-world issues and more social awareness?

This is an interview with my mom. I sat down to get her thoughts on creative confidence. I also learned about some of her success and failure and how it's helped shape her creative confidence.

Nice, Anne-Laure! This is a story that has stuck with me since freshman year psychology during my time as an undergraduate. It's still so relevant today and very applicable here. Great questions.

Hi Janice,

Thanks for sharing this. I actually didn't know that these programs existed. I think that while this exhibits a step in the right direction towards keeping women safe, it really sheds light on a bigger problem. Women shouldn't have to be segregated from men in order to be safe. Women and men should be able to coexist freely without one fearing the other. I think that the featured post today is a start to addressing these larger problems. http://www.openideo.com/challenge/womens-safety/research/it-s-a-men-s-issue-and-a-peer-group-issue

Thanks again! I'll be thinking about this more now throughout the challenge.

I want to go!! :)
