Annie commented on IDEO Intern Brainstorm Mashup!

Your airport idea reminded me of a new Facebook group I recently noticed in my feed. I've mentioned in other comments that I am a swing dancer... well dancers are a friendly bunch who love meeting other dancers and, well, dancing! A few dancers started a Facebook group called DanceAir that was designed to facilitate dancers meeting up in airports for dancing (&/or visiting together). Dancers can post where they'll be and when, and others with a similar schedule can drop by and say hello. It's fun to see random connections being made on a daily basis.

Obviously dancers have a common dance connection, and in your idea you mention perhaps having a known meeting point for people open to connecting... I wonder what other openers might exist to allow serendipity to have a hand?

That's really exciting Paul. I can't wait to see how the rest of the community builds on this. Nice job!

The scenarios do help bring this to life, Paul, I'm glad you added one. Specifically, I now have a better idea of how you were imagining the roles of associate memberships and endorsements. It looks like the idea you've imagined (I hope I'm interpreting it correctly) allows organizations that already exist a new way to extend their reach, and possibly help new groups of people. Very cool!
