India is a diverse country in many terms. The different communities, their rituals, behavioural conducts etc. offer many insights into the problems which exist elsewhere. Looking at them through a particular lense and trying to go deeper can help us

Hi Shane, good to hear from you. One thing that is immediately coming to my mind is shared resources. In a lower income household, you don't have the luxury of private systems and relying on public goods brings the community together and promotes harmony.

There may be more, lets build a list and see where it can go. :)

Thanks Monika. May I probe further and ask you what exactly causes this boost of self esteem? Financial empowerment, better experience of the outside world etc? There are definitely these and many more. It will be great to have the points listed and discuss further on them. Hear from you soon. Apologies for a delayed response.

Hi Yvonne, that is the essential quality of being human. You can't be repressed all the time. sooner or later one of you will rise, motivate others, start a revolution, create an inflection and just like that within a short span we on a different course. Its the same everywhere from Renaissance to Arab Spring. The important thing is to identify such movements and pay heed to them before they become out of control.
