Within this challenge, the meetup could feature mentors to teach about basic financial literacy and management. In fact, some of the great ideas found in this challenge could be brought up and taught during the meetup, for example: Napkin Finance, Financial Comic Book, Financial Overview Kit, and more. Beyond this challenge, the topics is wide open (cooking skills, handicraft, etc).
What's important, the topic should be able to sustain participants engagement for all 3 sessions, and worth $2 contribution that participants fork out each time. As such, this encourage leaders to pay attention of what the participants needs and wants and personalize the training accordingly (within 1 hour constraint).
The money collected is to compensate Leader's effort in doing all the preparation, conducting and delivering the workshop. Therefore it's the leader decision whether the money collected should be kept, channeled back to the participants (e.g. to motivate attending all training) or for other purposes.
We hope by having this "4x3x2x1 rule", it opens new financial opportunity to monetize skills and resources that the leader has, and inspire others to do so. We also see that corporate sponsorship could play important role, for example, providing venue, foods, materials, leadership training. They could then receive "impact report" and feedback from meetup participants for their generous support.
