Alanna commented on Kinderpreneur Launchbox

I really like this idea in that it is meeting kids where they are -- at the lunch table. The questions I have are around the socio-economic implications of lunch boxes. It makes me feel slightly old, but I wonder to what extent students still use lunch boxes as opposed to paper bags, buying their lunch, etc. I also think there could be some socio-economic implications for the marketing of this product, since students receiving free or reduced lunch (at least in the US) will not have access to it since they do not bring a lunch.

But overall, a really nice and straight-forward idea that has a lot of room for growth and diversification!

Alanna commented on Design Constraints & Safety Mapping Apps

These are strong points all around. Now that I'm reminded of it, I never used maps while I was in India either. I like the idea of going back to blackboards that Meena mentions. It's like the stripped down version of the Satetipin app I mentioned in my post in that it can be updated in 'real time,' and doesn't require Internet access. Two issues I could see: 1) People couldn't anonymously update safety threats there, since the community could watch them writing. 2) How would visitors or newcomers in the community know where to look for the local blackboards?

Overall, though, I really like the idea of tapping into low-tech, local knowledge -- whether it is through stalls or boards or something else. Great thoughts!

Hey Brandie, I haven't found any follow-up reports yet, but deeper digging could reveal some kinds of evaluations. Let me know if you find any as well!
