I have the same problem-food is too good. When I realized this I decided to buy a fitbit. I didn't work out more, I just felt less bad about myself because I was reaching my daily goals, but I felt that I could be doing more.
When you were referring to a stronger community, what if their was a community that was collectively working towards the same goal. Maybe for example, lose 20 pounds to raise awareness for cancer. Some of my fellow student hike the Adirondack 46 high peaks for Autism Awareness. They gained a ton of support via social media and they accomplished their goal last summer. If this was brought down on a smaller scale, but still had the community outreach I think that this could help motivate people like you and me to exercise more.

I am going to do this at my university! I am a senior studying Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and I am currently working on getting more students focused on design thinking whether it is within school projects or companies that students want to start within our Innovation Hub that will be starting soon. My team and I are working to boost the entrepreneurial spirit within all majors and I think this could be a great way to start this adventure.
My end goal is essentially eliminating the barriers that exist between the engineering school, business school, and school of arts and sciences, to have students and faculty members realize that working together is way more beneficial then working separately. Having the core set of values of what we want the program to consist of will be crucial to the success and longevity of the program! If you have any additional documents that could help, it would be awesome! I have been doing lots of reading on design thinking, but the more the merrier I say!
This could a whole new spin on the 5 minute workout. As I sit binge watching Netflix, I sometimes wish I had the motivation to work out at the same time. If there was a way to contribute not only to commercials but streamed shows as well I think that could be interesting.
Having some sort of recording device-such as a mobile app- can create a competition like atmosphere among friend groups that are also watching the same TV show. Example: You burned 500 more calories then Jane! Keep up the good work-see you at the next commercial!
