Yes! If people decide to report it to the NYC Council, it goes directly into their Councilstat database, which they regularly monitor. Councilstat tracks all reports from constituents including noise complaints, potholes, requests for resources, etc.
In terms of a "help" button we would love to do something like this -- but because the app is global and our local sites are in 26 countries, it would take significant additional capacity to ensure that this was appropriately localized. It's something to consider for phase II though. Similarly -- localizing local resources would be time consuming, although we do have them available in NYC thanks to funding from the NYC Council.
Hey Shruti -- so we launched the first version of this app in 2010 before these other apps were made and it's available free for download on iPhone and Droid. The goal of this project is to take our app to the next level.
