This is a nice and simple idea, that I know works for me. I'm a student, and at my school, all my teachers work in companies. We can ask them anything we want, and hear all about their current projects. Every monday we also have "Design in connection" where artist, designers, architects, even older students come and talk about their work. The school is really good at getting people from all over the world, and giving us insight in work and projects.
So your idea is a good way of getting information and inspiration out to students!
yes, students from all ages could get invited for a quick lesson or to see different demonstrations. Or that the organization have talks and demonstrations at the high schools, getting in touch with them as well.
I think the organization will inspire to change the curriculum, and when more students and professors get in inspired and involved, it would be natural for a uni/college to want an up to speed curriculum. And hopefully, it will end up being a subject of it own.
