Thanks for your great questions and comments! What we are planning is to implement the project in both Mexican families in Mexico and the US - as in both countries we have a strong foothold with target audiences. Mexican (and hispanic) families in the US and Latin America grew up with Plaza Sésamo, so the characters and brand have a special place in all of our hearts (I can speak from myself too) and it is a trusted source of educational content for families. We want to take advantage of that existing connection to reach families in both sides of the border through a digital platform - available in Spanish and English.
We've been refining our idea (and will continue to do so until submission deadline!) to ensure that we bring some of the most innovative aspects from the digital side - such as creating unique experiences for each family - as well as we consider the lessons learned from our existing outreach work with the target populations in Mexico, Latin America and the US in terms of what works, which barriers we've encountered when promoting nurturing care and deeper engagement, and how could we add a solution that feels "easy-to-adopt" and simple (we don't want to add an extra layer of work into their already tight schedules), and responds to the existing need to keep their children "entertained" while they learn and help them move through developmental milestones.
I'm not sure if my reasons is clear enough! I hope that it will be crystal clear by the time we submit!
Your project is really interesting! I'm really curious about the methodology that you have developed and about what set of skills do community workers or other facilitators need to really take your project to scale. I'm always happy to explore synergies with partners - so any idea that you suggest we can review and discuss :) Good luck with your submission!
